Hello Christmas Eve.

There seems to be a lot of love going around this Christmas. Thanks for all you lovely people around me. : )

As I grow up, I realise I’ve changed a little. A little less emotional. A little less thoughtful. A lot more heck-care. A lot more forgetful. A little more detached. I think except for the forgetful part, I am changing to a little more Collin. But that’s what Pisces, being a water sign does, they morphed into their surroundings and the people around them.

But if being a little of the above makes my life a little easier, maybe it’s not all bad. After all, I grew up being too emotional, thinking too much, cared too much, remembered too much and attached too much meaning to things that sometimes don’t really matter.

At the end of the day, as long as we all are living each day a little happier than the day before.

It’s cliche but they always say, those who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter.

I am fortunate enough to have acquired significant people throughout my life. Not significant as in the numbers, significant in that they are people who mean something to me; people who you don’t have to meet or even talk to often enough, yet know we all mean a little more than usual to each other.

Next year, I’ll try to be a better friend.

I feel obligated to start every blog post with sorry I’ve haven’t been blogging much.

It’s true but I should really stop saying that ’cause it looks really stupid when I scroll down. Urps. : )

It’s December and it’s a happy month! It’s the month of many happy occasions – christmas, the end of 2011, Mengsoon’s birthday, Ah-mei’s birthday, Choonkee & Ye Ling’s wedding, and above all, I get to be in Singapore the whole month till our next work trip (possibly in Feb 2012). Hee hee.

It’s not that bad to have to travel monthly actually. You get to have foreign chinese food, my favourite; and life seems to come to a halt for that one week (so anything you want to escape, goody good). The bane of the latter – when you have things to do, and everything has to stop for that one week, you’d really hate all that traveling. But I’m adjusting, and I think I’m loving work trips more nowadays. : )

Everyone has been asking me about this, ever since Collin quitted his job earlier this year and started this arduous entrepreneurial route full time. I think I haven’t been the perfect girlfriend ’cause I admittedly did waver a little under all that questioning and pressure, and threw some of those pressure to Collin.

If there is something you always wanted to do,

you should do it n o w .

We know the mantra, that life is too short for any regrets.

But how often do we really stick by it?

Watching opportunities slipped by.

Not taking chances.

Not grabbing the ones we love.

Withholding what you really want to say.

What you want to do.

Where you want to be.

There has to be moments in life where you can think back and say,

I was young once.

Do what is right for this moment.

Just remember nothing is without consequences.

And when the times come, you have to face up to it.

But at the very least, you leave yourself with no regrets.

GIMME THE CAR, I LOVE AMEX!

Haha, as you all know, Zi recommended the AMEX KrisFlyer Card to me when I was shopping for a good travel card to bring to London/Madrid. Turns out to be awesome to date, but you’ll also realise how scarily you spend after having pay for the credit card bills monthly and seeing exactly how much little purchases make up to.

Oh wells, what money earned isn’t really yours until you spend it.

And now clever AMEX gives me an extra reason to spend. Woohoo.

Maybe I should just head on to ION and get that iPad for my mum, or a nice pair of heels to reward myself.

What’s your motivation?

Just came back home from a late dinner/supper with the girls at LL. Great night with lots of chattering especially from sissy, Yina and myself. Haha. We try to restrain ourselves but the teochew girls always end up talking the most. Erhem, I love all you girls nonetheless! : )

A recent topic we have been raising of late:

What is your motivation?

Is it money?

Is it recognition?

Is it success?

Is it fame?

This topic kind of coincides with the many long therapy sessions I’ve been having with Collin of late. What I’m doing at this point in life , and specifically with LL, with LRH?

My first actual work experience proved that I cannot work for passion without money.

My second work experience, which is now at LL, seems to have proven that I cannot work for money without passion either.

I guess this is what happens to people who never really need to worry about money. Thankfully to my parents, but it’s also where this story begins.

To set the record straight, I AM A FREAKING WORKAHOLIC.

Like how people are shopaholic, or like to buy expensive bags and shoes. I like to work. I feel the same orgasmic happiness when I finish doing a LRH launch, and perhaps more so than when I got the Chanel Jumbo I always thought I wanted. (But the latter feels more like, oh-I-bought-it-hmm.)

And sometimes I know it jeopardises the relationships around me, like when Collin has to hang around just because I’m not done yet or when I burn my only off day just to finish up some work. But I really enjoy the process of working and know that I am doing something of value.

So what’s my motivation?

To know that I’ve push myself hard, to work towards something and get rewarded adequately at the end of it.

So I guess it is a combination of money and success.

What really irks me is when words are not followed with actions, or when actions don’t lead to success. The latter simply because when you work, you ought to be working towards a goal and working smart in order to up the chances of success, rather than working and going through the motions because you have to.

There’s a term we learnt in secondary history class – meritocracy, which by now, we know it’s more like a myth or ideology, or you can also say, absolute bullshit.

But that’s what I subscribed to personally – you are answerable to your own success, hence you work, you achieve. Don’t blame anyone, and don’t tell me you don’t know why things are like that.

I think if you really believe in it, and very importantly, if your heart is in it, you will make it work.

So now you ask yourself,

What is your motivation?

And you don’t have to tell anyone. Just be honest with yourself and when all it clear to you, work towards your motivation.

‘Cause really, at the end of the day, it’s your life and no one else.

Haven’t been blogging for a long time ’cause life has been busy and up till perhaps one month ago, has also became super happening with these funny videos we have been doing for Little Red Heels!

Most people know I’m occasionally uncontrollably hyper, a little loose wire and do weird things at weird times. B U T our dear minion, Fish (affectionately called), is the goddess of all randomness. I am weird, yes, but I am not as random as she is. Win hands down really, haha.

But hey hey, that’s why we love her so muchhhhhh! We like odd balls, quirkiness and everything unconventional. And I am glad because it’s bringing so much positive energy to LRH and the office. Ho ho ho. Thanks Yina Goh for introducing Fish to us! Muaks. : )
