happy birthday, mummy / company dinner 2011

It’s a Wednesday afternoon and I’m lying on my bed with nothing to do.

Hoorayyyyy! It’s the one and only break of the year – lunar new year – where we get a whooping 15 16 days of holidays. So happy I can die right now, or maybe not ’cause it’s time to celebrateeeeee.

I believe I’m someone who cannot be doing nothing.

Just yesterday night, I got so excited with the idea of having a long break that I couldn’t sleep and kept thinking of what to do with Little Red Heels during this period – the only time I can put in my 101% without feeling bad.

So I was awake all the way to six-ish am and came up with a business proposal which should help us get things into place and in auto pilot mode when Zi finally goes away to US indefinitely come March. Yay!

Yes, we are still hiring.

In fact, we haven’t start interviewing so keep your resumes coming. And we have also upped from 1 full timer to TWO. If things work out, we will be needing more along the way but it’s good for now. I’ll upload the details when Zi has gone through the proposal and we clearly know all that these new hires have got to do – primarily launch-centric (design, creative, stylish) and operations-centric (customer oriented, neat, focus).

I sense that this year is going to be a really exciting one, and come what may, we’ll work it all out.

Last Saturday, the 3 corners of CP gathered force and sat down together for a company dinner.

We deliberately planned it on Mummy’s birthday so we could celebrate it together! Collin & I did some shopping before that to grab a nice Mango Tart from Rive Gauche, and between the siblings, we got her a classic Chanel wallet which is total love!

Meh, the very same wallet I forgo a year back for my Prada saffiano ’cause the latter is cheaper and less fragile. But I could see she really likes it and it’s all the more awesome because we all know it’s something that she would never buy for herself. My mum is sort of your thrifty housewife next door and I think we all rubbed off a little of that (brother, me, sissy; in decreasing order).

Because I’m lazy to attach all the pictures, here’s some highlights and the rest are little thumbnails so happy clicking!

No one does the pout as well as Felky does. Well well..

And I just have to share this,
lesson learnt: latecomers get drenched.

Family Shot.

Everyone say, HUAT AH!

has it been another year?

Yes indeed!

Felky, our cute salesgirl at LL, asked me today how is it like being TWENTY years old?

Normally, I will have thrown her a deep stare and screammmmed ’cause there is no reason to fear twenty when everyone in the shop is mid twenties and beyond. Scary thought, the latter.

But I told her today, being the big two-zero, means financial independence and that she is able to do things she isn’t able to when she was in her teens. Like travelling – which is apt ’cause she is going to be on a jet plane for the first time come May, en route to Taiwan.

I am jealous.

But ok, I’m more of very happy for her, to see that she is so sincerely happy and contented. Especially so ’cause she is treating her mummy to this trip (and her sis is treating their auntie just so her mummy will have a good company). Very filial girl. Sometimes, she puts us to shame. Haha.

Girls at LL are camwhores, happy ones. Once someone takes out a camera, everyone wants to be part of the pic! Haha.

This day, Felky bought us Barbie contact lens that is supposed to enlarge your pupil for that dolly eyed look. But it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference on Sissy and me ’cause we have large(r) black pupil to begin with.

And I say less so for me, ’cause I have a smaller eye frame amongst the trio. Bleh. I need a cheek suction and eye enlargement. Oh, please add buttock and thigh liposuction to the list! Sigh sigh.

I was also random surfing on FaceBook. Very bad I know, when I should be replying emails for Little Red Heels but hey, work-life balance right? Haha.

And the side bar flashed some pictures from the past.

Events picture taken back when I was still rocking my so called passion. I actually look pretty fresh back then; either that or the photographer smooth us all out ’cause honestly we all look pretty radiant.

And I actually miss my short crop but I shan’t do anything foolish for now.

How was it being 22-going-23, compared to now?

1. Firstly, age becomes an undisclosed thing. Much like an obscure concept that brings people down at the mere thought of it, and as complicated as physics (hated it in secondary school but when on to major it in junior college, and effectively screw up my life with it ’cause I did so bad for A levels) or programming (got an U(nsatisfactory) for this module in university).

2. I began using anti-ageing products, never hurt to start earlier.

3. Financial independence rocks my socks, and yes, better than passion. (But oh wells, I submitted and subscribed to the reality of life – money does make life easier but no, I’m not a money slave. I just enjoy the security of having money and knowing if I need it, I have it.)

4. I have a new friend. Her name is Slowing Metabolism. So yes, have to snack less and hello, morning pilates!

These were taken in January 2009, change much?

happy first week ❤

Hello, I hope this first week of 2011 has been great! ❤

I’m treading my daily life carefully and thoughtfully.
What to wear, what to do, who to meet, etc.
But I doubt it will last for long and very soon,
2011 might just blend into normal life and
become just another year that came and went.

I wore my F21 vintage inspired printed dress finally today.
It’s was the last piece and in size L, but as my saying goes,

never, n e v e r ,
miss a printed piece.

If you like it, buy it ’cause you are most likely not to
stumble upon it again. ❤

Sis and I do the most ridiculous things when we have nothing
to do in the shop. We went shopping at a random beauty store
and decided to do eyelash extension on each other.

Muahaha.

My lashes are superly long now, blink blink.
And it doesn’t cause any discomfort as yet. But because
I was the first to go, aka the guinea pig, mine ended up
the most messy. Meh.

Customers, you can start making appointments!
We are really quite skilled at it now. Haha.
