this tuesday is from glee to flee

unlike pebble,

children grow up and
quit being daddy’s little girl or mummy’s little boy.

my parents don’t understand this.

or as ting put it,
my parents are in transitional stage.

okay. i accept that.

regardless,
i’m still going to japan next week with collin.

and we’re going to have helluva fun!

this wednesday is remembering happiness.

I’m back! Back to update on life these days.

You know how it is like. Maybe we all experience this at some point or another.

The feeling of standing in the middle of a busy road;
watching people go/work towards their goal/heading somewhere purposeful/
doing things that are enriching; growing, learning.

I know how much the mundane is not for me.
But I never realise how growth is a major part of being not-mundane.

If I could have things my way, I would

1 Make Little Red Heels the most awesome website to shop at.
Perfect the layout and have weekly launches.

2 Acquire new knowledge – off the mind, property market (most definitely).
Maybe start some investment young, but at least, start by understanding.

3 Still have energy to work on LXXLA. Nice designs are not enough,
but superly is-it-christmas awesome designs. Complete with
cooperative suppliers and happy customers.

4 Travel and take a rejuvenating break from all the above.

Instead of

1 Feeling like Little Red Heels is a constant work in progress.
Struggling launches ’cause both of us are so busy, always.

2 Feeling like I don’t have the time to carry things through till the end.

3 Working on whatever comes up. Nudge, I move.
Really wish I can do more.

4 What holidays when all the above are not in place.

You get the gist. I think the list can go on.

I am admittedly quite a workaholic;
and I somehow always think that I am not doing enough.
(I don’t know if people think that I am working enough,
honestly that don’t really matter much.)

I constantly worry that I am not pushing myself enough,
that I am not working my currently resources to the best,
that I am not growing.

Up to this point, for those who are aware of my health history,
will probably think I should hold it and rest more.

I say, I know that very well – I am resting more,
but also do let me push myself ’cause I am only the most
happy when I do that – to know I am growing.

My sister had just casually remarked,
life is playing catch up.

That’s how life is like for me now.

I’ve just launched a new series on Little Red Heels.

I’m off to a work trip next week so I have about 3 days to catch up
with the preparations for the trip.

Meanwhile, I got to pack the packages and head off to the post office before I fly off.
Also, reply to all the emails that I’ve been behind for a while by now.

Not forgetting a photoshoot this Sunday so our models don’t get poached away.

Playing catch up, yes.

With all the above said, I don’t remember feeling this way so deeply maybe one month back.

So maybe I don’t have to be playing catch up all the time;
maybe this is just a tight stretch that will be over before I know it.

I know, I’ll be back!

Finally for some happy things.

In my last work trip, I took a snapshot of every
happy moment I feel – even the slightest.

I think I should do this more, so I’ll remember that
happiness can be simple.

this saturday is happy thoughts only.

Everyone updates Facebook status at whim, but this of all rings rather true.
Undeniably, things were much simpler when we were younger.

Now that most of us have adulthood smacked in the face,
we worry if working hard enough for the future we dream of;
if we are earning enough; if we are keeping up with the peers;
if we are making the most of our current resources;
if we will lost what we have now;
if that future will ever become reality.

We cannot run away from the craziness of adulthood.

But in the midst of this madness,
we need to ask ourselves,

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Simply ’cause we are responsible for our own happiness! :)

1. Take a vacation whenever you feel you need one – be it a 3 day BKK trip or a week long Taiwan trip.
I am so wanting to go to Europe, or anywhere exotic. Soon soon!

2. Implement a no-work day – bask under the sun when the sun is way up,
huddle in your room when it’s raining out there. Leave your laptop at home if necessary.

3. You know who to earn your keep, you gotta spend your keep too!
Try it: specify an amount you can afford to spend, and buy anything you want with that money.

4. Watch Discovery or any real life show – just so you know how blessed you are.

5. Hang out with your friends at least once a week, they are the ones that keep you to the ground.

6. Do something that you have not tried before – sky diving, extreme ride,
scuba diving, maybe Singapore Flyer, etc.

7. Discover a new place to eat with your loved ones.

8. Dress up and make yourself feel pretty everyday.

9. Rant, cry, scream at people who pissed you off. It’s part of the healing process.
Then just forget about them after that – no point holding on to negative feelings.
Being forgetful is not such a bad thing.

10. Think positive. Also, put yourself in the shoes of others.
Added: Though to be happy, it’s okay to be selfish sometimes.
Appreciate those around you. Remember what goes around, comes around.

♥

Come up with your TEN HAPPY HABITS too! :)

this tuesday is the campus look; WIWT.

I always wanted to do a WIWT, aka what I wore today,
but am never narcissistic enough to do so.

Or maybe I am just lazy to post up the pics.

Or too shy to admit that I am a closet narcissist.

Whatever it is.

I gather that since everyday is an effort to dress up and look good,
might as well max it out and share the look.

Today we took a short trip to KL and back, all within a day.

I wore my yellow skirt romper, which my sis claims I look like
a certain cartoon character who wears yellow skirt romper too (can’t rmbr exactly).

I likey!

Look out for this skirt romper on Little Red Heels (www.iloveLRH.com)!
Perhaps give me 3 more weeks? Heh. :)

My sis finally get to come along for the recent work trip ’cause we were closed for CNY.
Under her influence and with the abundance of time , we went to do THIS!

Mine, then hers.

FML. First time doing gel nails. Very noob and amazed at the same time.

Extreme girliness and a tad bimbo-fied.
I feel like slapping myself each time I look at my nails. Haha.

Don’t try, don’t know hor.

Thing is, I think I can very well get used to this.
It doesn’t handicap me from anything so far, but we will see.

disclaimer

You don’t have to like what I wear, I am just highly adventurous in what I wear
and am very comfortable in my own skin.

I don’t photoshop my pictures to make myself slimmer/taller/prettier
but do adjust lightings for obvious aesthetic reasons,
and yes, I do not deny choosing and snapping my better angles.

Love each another!

Greetings from the land of many Chinese.

OMG. I am actually appalled that I am able to access WordPress. Since my latest obsession aka Twitter is blocked in Cheenaland, hello blog readers!

I’m sitting at a random dingy hair salon, with a hair stylist who is giving me really weird vibes – ranging from talking to himself and being over-bearingly senstive.

They also provide FOC internet connection which is really cool even though it is Windows XP Professional. Any internet is better than no internet at all.

Have I also mention that the computer playing next to me was playing a brief striptease for a while? Not so funny if not for the fact that my mum is seated next to me.

For the record, if there is anything I dislike about salon visits is how they will wrap you with this sheet, covering your neck in the process, effectively making the face look really F A T .

Meh.

I also paid my first visit to a local eat-all-you-can seafood buffet a la Chinese, something my parents and I are very sure will be the last visit.

Food generosity: 5/5
Presentation: 1/5
Customer service: 0/5
Overall: 1.3/5 (saving grace was that they had cotton candy, yay)

(The stylist just dropped the hair dryer on my head. Cool right? Whee!)

I’ll be back tomorrow! Till then, miss me.

greetings from the land of hotness

Hotness, in terms of the weather right now and also the people here are kind of hot, so is the food (i like!).

We touched down at approximately 8PM on Tuesday and haven’t stop eating for a moment since. I AM SO GOING ON A DIET AFTER THIS TRIP, I PROMISE. Ok, that’s beside the point.

Point is – great break so far and we have been covering distance. I walked so much I think by the end of this trip, I will have walked more within these 05 days than the whole year combined thus far.

Let the pictures talk!

(P.S. you can message me at my Singapore mobile if you need me to buy anything back!)

Short Getaway Part I

My first post for the month of March.

I may not be the one who updates regularly; and Collin shames me by telling me that my blog is all words and no pictures (i.e. boring). I mean, I am not out to entertain and contrary to before, no longer see the need to hawk my present life – if you miss me, I probably miss you loads too, let’s meet up instead! Hence this blog is really nothing but an avenue for me to rant random thoughts, thoughts that may sound weird if I come spilling them to you. Heh.

In my attempt to liven up this blog, here’s some pictures from our recent getaway to Bangkok during Collin’s break week! Whee.

In summary, we were really unlucky this trip and keep hopping into cabs with unfriendly drivers who either refuse meter, demand extra fare or keep asking us to visit strange tourist spots like crocodile farms or the famous tiger show. The ultimate driver was one who was so irrationally angry that he brought us to our destination but refuse to take the meter fare and ask us to “get out”, because we refused to pay him extra (he agreed to meter when we board), were not interested in his strange tourist spots and did not want to go “shopping” for his fuel rebates.

Exasperating indeed, but we try not to let it spoil our mood. : )

Day I

Bad driver #1 – from Airport to hotel

Blacklisted car plate (and Collin, of course)

We usually settle easily for cheap hotels, but decided to pamper ourselves a little with a more fancy hotel, Baiyoke Boutique. The lobby is nice, like the pics seen online.

But the room really fall short of expectation. We tried to upgrade our room to Deluxe, but the hotel was small and all packed. The nicest view of our “superior” room as follows. A reminder to opt for Deluxe room the next time! Otherwise, it’s a clean and pleasant stay.

Even the McDonald’s just look a little different there. The placement of the chairs along the shop aisle and a random sticker reaffirming that it’s McDonald’s alright.

A must – vintage clothes shopping!

Last but not least, a cute Thai shopkeeper at Suan Lum! One of our favourite shopping spots at BKK! :)

Day II

Thai MacBook! I just thought the keyboard’s really interesting!

Traffic is a wonder at BKK.

Shopping continues late at night, you just got to know where to go!

I am tempted to conclude that they have the most amazing indie shops with nice furnishings. :)

Before.

After.

We visited old friend on the right and made a new one on the left! :)

End of day 2; and another blacklisted car plate number for the record.

To be continued.

We are counting downnnn!

Ting complained that I don’t blog nowadays. Yea, she is probably right. But hey, I did not vanish right after exams. In fact, life can never be so eventful. Since the end of APRIL,

I have travelled to Thailand for the kick of it.

I have travelled to Taiwan for grad trip and man, I simply adore that place.

I have launched a series called GET (RED)DY and got slammed by one girl who got offended with the apparent misuse of concept/creativity. Hmm.

I have celebrated Sindy’s birthday with her very high friends at Dragonfly.

I have celebrated belated Mother’s Day with my family, Collin and Jaime at Hai Tien Lo by Tung Lok.

I have had a hair cut by Collin, and it’s looking less like a helmet (or maybe looking like a smaller helmet).

I have been forced to buy Ting her belated birthday present for 2006 and 2007. (Yes, 2008 not included.)

I have celebrated my 8th anniversary with Collin at Aston Prime, which serves fantastic mushroom soup.

I have just played a crazy game of pool with Collin, Ting and Matt.

Life has been fruitful, and I am trying to keep it this way to avoid falling into the life of an unemployed. AHHH! I need some structure in my life. And right now, I am going to bed earl(ier) so I can wake up in time to 1) shop for a notice board (which is supposed to help me organise my life and career plan) and 2) labels for this Friday’s surprise!

We are finally counting downnnn! It’s official! Woohoo!

23 MAY 2008, 21:00

Mark it down on your calendar, babyyyyy!
